2019 30. Mai bis 2. Juni, Chorwochenende in Marlow (UK)

Two Choirs re-united – Zwei Chöre wieder vereint. Das war der Titel eines phantastischen Konzertes
am 1. Juni in der „All Saints Church“ im englischen Marlow an der Themse. Akteure waren der „Next Stage Choir“
mit ihrem Musical Director Russell Scott und „dachor Persenbeug“ mit Chorleiter Dr. Wolfgang Schweiger.

Mit einem Besuch 2015 in St. Albans hatte unsere Bekanntschaft mit dem „Next Stage Choir“ begonnen.
2016 waren die Sängerinnen und Sänger aus England bei uns in Persenbeug zu Besuch, darunter auch viele
aus Marlow, dem zweiten Standort dieses mittlerweile an drei Standorten aktiven Chores, die uns dann sehr
herzlich dorthin eingeladen haben. Heuer war es endlich so weit. Nach viel Organisationsarbeit von beiden Seiten
haben wir vom 30. Mai bis 2. Juni ein sehr schönes Wochenende dort verbracht, Schifffahrt, Cream Tea und
Ausflug nach Windsor inklusive.

Der Höhepunkt war das Konzert am Samstagabend. Wir präsentierten uns mit afrikanischen Liedern aus dem
letzten Programm, gefolgt von traditionellen Volksliedern aus Österreich. Wir hatten auch extra „afrikanisches und
trachtiges Outfit“ mitgenommen. Das Publikum ließ sich nicht lange bitten, beim Paschen mitzumachen.
„Next Stage Choir“ überzeugte mit sehr schwungvoll dargebotenen englischen Popsongs. Und mit den zwei
gemeinsamen Songs von den Beatles zum Schluss waren alle – Chöre und Publikum – über sprachliche und
kulturelle Unterschiede hinweg vereint: „HELLO, GOODBYE“ und „ALL YOU NEED IS LOVE“.
